Glenn
Beck is dropped by Goldline International as a paid spokesman.
He’s been extolling the virtues
of buying gold, especially since President Obama took office.
Then came word, as Radio-Info previously reported, that syndicated
talker and Fox TV afternoon host Glenn Beck was a paid spokesman
for Goldline International, a company that sells gold coins.
Fox News had a problem with
it, as their company policy prohibits any on-air talent from
endorsing products, as well as being a product spokesperson.
The New York Times says after Fox queried Goldline about Beck’s
status with them, they sent back a letter saying “he is not
a paid spokesman.”
However, the Times says Goldline
International only recently changed the caption under the
picture of Beck that appears on their website from “paid spokesman”
to “radio sponsor.” A number of other radio hosts, including
conservatives Mark Levin & Laura Ingraham also have Goldline
International as a sponsor of their radio shows.
