A
growing number of people in the US are choosing to invest
in gold, an expert has observed.
Brad Watts of US Classics told the Mohave
Daily News that interest in the precious metal is increasing
due to uncertainty in the stock market.
He was speaking at the Laughlin Coin, Currency,
Jewelry & Stamp Expo, which was held in Nevada over the
weekend.
The publication noted that while stock prices
can decrease suddenly, many people are turning to gold because
a rare and valuable coin is unlikely to see much depreciation.
"People are investing in coins and gold,"
said Mr Watts. "It's a very good investment market right
now … gold's hot."
Last week, advisory firm Gold Coins Gain noted
that American Eagle gold coins are a particularly good investment
for those in the US.
The company explained that they count as part
of individual retirement arrangements and therefore carry
tax advantages.
