This Superb
Gem 1911-D Saint Gaudens is tied for the second finest
known at CAC. The coin is bright and lustrous. It
is well struck with full details on Liberty’s bosom
covering, the Capitol building and its immediate area
at the lower left, and the design elements of the
reverse, especially the tops of the eagle’s wings.
As expected for a coin at
this grade level, there are no visible abrasion marks
or other distractions. Of course the surfaces are
completely original and lovely. The CAC sticker indicates
that the coin is of premium quality and fully merits
the assigned grade. Beautiful.
In its population report,
as of July 2016, CAC has confirmed 91 1911-D Saint
Gaudens in MS66 condition with 1 better.
