1833
Dime last 3 high (JR-5, R-1) PCGS MS-63 – The
popular red book variety of the 1833 dime. Struck to
the extent of 485,000 pieces, this is an issue that
is not hard to find in uncirculated grades. As original
as this piece however, they are not as easy to find.
This variety is easily identified, as the last 3
in the date is higher than the other numerals. A popular
red book variety, this issue is common, but its inclusion
in the red book has raised the prices considerably.
Collecting the capped bust dime series by variety
has been very popular lately, and prices for choice
pieces tend to be much stronger then before.
The present piece is a super-original coin with a
great strike. Sea-green colors show, mixed with red
highlights over satiny luster. As a bonus, this coin
is struck from rotated dies, which are quite obvious.
A very premium quality piece, this is a great coin
for the type collector!
