1807
Quarter Eagle - The 1807 Quarter Eagle
is the most available issue of the design, and is generally
sought by those seeking a high grade example for a type set.
It is thought that 250 to 350 remain today from the original
mintage of 6,812.
The obverse stars are arranged with seven
to the left and six to the right. It also shows faint die
cracks through the date, stars on the left, and most of LIBERTY.
The reverse die was used for every quarter
eagle made from 1805 to 1807 and the dimes of 1807 as well.
Most of the coins of this issue are better struck than the
earlier dates.
