December 14, 2023 - United States Gold Quarter Eagles
Hello All,
What a wonderful time to be in South Florida! The weather has declined at nights to just being in the 50's (Brrrr) and our heaters are on! I would guess that most places in the country laugh about that. I know we see you all on I-95 or I-75 going and coming from the airports to your place in the sun. Well, enjoy and welcome to the sunshine state. Only I hope it's back into at least the 80's here when you exit the airplane in Ft. Myers!
This week we are presenting to you a lovely run of United States quarter Eagles. As most of you know, a Double Eagle is valued at $20.00 face value, and a United States Quarter Eagle is valued at 1/4 of that, or $2.50 face value.
Imagine being able to go to the bank and be paid in quarter eagles! You could only do so if you have a time machine, so the next best thing is to own some quarter eagles or even work toward assembling a complete set of United States Quarter Eagles, 1796-1929 which marks the end of the Indian quarter eagle series. Tom has helped a number of collectors assemble sets of Indians, Earlies and even a couple of complete sets of quarter eagles which is quite a wonderful thing to behold, numismatically speaking. It's also one of the least expensive of all US Gold Coins you can still assemble and still be somewhat reasonable in terms of finances.
