March 28st, 2024 - Double Eagles Delight - Rare Gold Double Eagles

Hi All

I hope all is well. This is our post-Baltimore offerings. It's also been a few months since focusing on what is perhaps the most popular gold coin of all, America's Double Eagle Gold and if you don't mind me saying, this is a double eagle blow your mind special offering, please take your time and choose from some of the great rarities in the Liberty Double Eagle Series that are not seen very often this exceptional. This also appears to be a good time to add to your collection or portfolio as these are very interesting times in this business. From an economic standpoint, gold has historically been a safe haven in times of economic and political uncertainty, government spending, currency devaluations which is something we seem to be experiencing quite a lot of these days as government spending has seemingly gone past warp drive and is now virtually out of control and will inflate, eventually until a burger will cost us $20 bucks at McDonalds.

Unlike the gold bullion market which is driven mostly by what's done on the floor of the various commodity trading organizations, just like cotton or pork bellies, gold is bought and sold while no physical metal actually trades hands. In rare gold coins on the other hands it doesn't take a lot of purchases to become noticed in an area where the populations are quite low or the collector base is large etc and there's no paper trades, this is all physical. The commodity that has doubled and triped in past years is oil and remember, we are also at least partially an western oil based economy, This has all been good for coins, real estate with the giant difference between rare coins and real estate is there's no financing in coins. You can't control a Brasher doubloon with 5% down. This is also what will help the investor in coins find more safety.

This type of economy enhances the existing strong market for rare gold coins and double eagle gold coins are the first that collectors and investors tend to gravitate to in good times and in worrisome times. There's a number of ways for the collector and investor to take part in the rare double eagle market and help safeguard the future buying power of the dollars used to obtain such rare gold coins. There's a type collection which means an investor could merely choose 1 type of each variation, each type of double eagle struck. With better date twenties seemingly in the midst of attracting more buyers, it stands to reason that prices will eventually follow that growth of interest and investing. Strive to buying the best you can afford in all cases and strive to purchasing great coins be it rarity, condition or both.

Another more ambitious endeavor would be to strive toward the set building concept meaning one of each date or mint mark or both. Or fully focus on key and semi key dates in various series, buying the "holes", or the ones that collectors always seem to leave for last. Don't follow that way of thinking, work toward obtaining the rarest ones first. You will be happy over time with this decision as time ticks forward so does education in these coins and that leads to more educated buyers which is good for you if you have a collection to offer! Then of course the most valuable and interesting way of them all would be to build a complete set of double eagles. This last endeavor would cost a large amount of capital but would be so rewarding when completed.

Please take a look at the following better date double eagles and secure the best ones for your collection. Don't forget that this is the post Baltimore newsletter and we'll also be adding newps to the price list/online.

These are the type of coins you would like to have in your retirement portfolio yes? Tom has been in the business for 40+ years and would be delighted in helping you find specimens from this famous mint, be it be individual coins as gifts to leave behind or in developing a collection of coins for investing and collecting purposes. United States Double Eagles are an extremely popular area of gold coins, and are a favorite among collectors everywhere and even their own overseas collector base with collectors in other countries also interested in the American Gold coins!

When you see a rare coin of interest, please click to request images and to temporarily reserve the coin, giving yourself a little time to review the images that we'll send you and communicating with us that you would like us to hold the coin while you do your research.

If you do not see what you are looking for on our website, send us an email or give us a call, because if it's a really rare coin, chances are we have a lead on one for you or have it in the safe!
