Happy Labor Day Newsletter and Inventory Update from US Rare Coin Investments!
Dear
Fellow Numismatist,
As
the summer comes to a close we in the coin business
who are generally used to the "summer doldrums" are
experiencing an interesting surge in coin buying and
trading. We at US Rare Coin Investments have seen
quite a few new inquiries and deals come in this last
few weeks of the summer and this really is showing
us the kind of underlying strength of this coin market,
the kind of which tells us we are in for an interesting
last half of 2007.
Many
investors who are weary of taking a pounding in the
stock market and other dollar denominated markets,
and/or who are running for their financial lives from
the real estate game, have been seeking out what just
may be one of the last and best places to park investment
dollars and that's in rare coins. We've been seeing
it and almost everyone we know has been seeing the
same type of activity which is indicative of a strong
positive marketplace.
That
said, we are pleased to offer you many Newps, a few
of which are shown below with links to some great
new coins we are uploading to our website. Whether
you are building a set of Carson City gold coins,
have interests in obtaining 20th Century Key Date
coins, please have a look below for some really cool
deals. Also please note that we are in desperate need
of most US as well as Foreign gold coins and are willing
to pay more, in order to get more. Please offer us
coins for sale or coins that you would consider trading
towards some of ours. And if you have a large collection
that you are considering selling at auction, please
give us a shot at representing your interests at auction
or buying your coins outright.
Please
don't hesitate to call with any questions and here's
some of our new listings!
1850-O
$20 NGC AU55 - $16,950.00
1850-O Double Eagle,
NGC AU-55 Here’s not only the very first collectible
year of the double eagle in the US but also the very
first year the double eagle was minted in the South.
A monumental rarity and in high demand by all better
date gold coin collectors, this specimen is in very
choice about uncirculated condition, one of which
there are 43 graded by NGC as AU-55 with only 17 coins
graded finer. A rare coin as thus with this coin being
near the top of the grading spectrum.
1852-O
$20 PCGS AU58 - $15,750.00
1852-O PCGS AU-58
Very Popular Southern Mint Double Eagle. The wide
popularity of this date is evident across the lines
of not only double eagle collectors but also specialists
in New Orleans gold coins, and Type I Twenties collectors.
Very few uncirculated coins of this date are known
to exist and therefore when found in such a high state
of about uncirculated, these coins generally find
their way in an important cabinet quite rapidly. Take
a close look at the specimen shown here and see that
this coin has exceptional surfaces and color. A delight
for even the fussiest of graders.
1877-CC
$20 NGC AU53 - $5,200.00
1877-CC Double Eagle,
NGC AU-53, The first Type III Double Eagle date struck
at the Carson City Mint. Here’s a nice original coin
in choice about uncirculated condition which will
make a fine addition to a set of Carson City gold
coins.
1902
$20 NGC PF58 - 10,750.00
1902 Double Eagle,
NGC Proof 58 Only 114 Proof Double Eagles were struck
in 1902. Only 23 double eagles of 1902 have been certified
as proof, in all grades, by NGC. Census shows only
2 specimens graded Prf 58, with this being one of
them. Great rarity and only a couple dozen appearances
of this date in proof seen at auction in the last
15 years or so. Hence a great opportunity to own such
an affordable rarity.
