1910-D St. Gaudens Double Eagle PCGS MS64. A near gem example of this early St. Gaudens double eagle. The majority of the remaining examples show heavy bag marks, limiting the grade. This piece looks finer than most, with it having just a few too many hits for grading gem. In that case, the price would have at least tripled, as gems and higher are very scarce for this issue.
The present coin is totally original, with a light yellow-green color. Nicely struck with full luster. No distracting hits are seen on either side, which has all details brought up nicely. A nice coin for the discriminating collector of St. Gaudens double eagles, or for anyone wishing to own a nice example of this popular type coin.
