1935 5C (1935 Nickel) DDR FS-018 NGC VF25. This circulated, doubled die reverse Indian Head nickel has clean surfaces and wear that is consistent with its grade. The coin is its original silver and grey with darker toning near the upper and left rims. It appearance is quite nice for the grade and condition. A doubled die takes place when a coin receives one of its blows from a hub or device punch in accidentally imperfect alignment. In the present coin the doubling on the reverse is most apparent on the FIVE CENTS, particularly on the upper right stand of the V. The FS-18 often shows doubling on E PLURIBUS UNUM, the eye, horn, and the hair on the Buffalo's head.
