1974 South Vietnam 10 Dong - 1975 S. Vietnam 10D NGC MS62. KM#13. This Mint State, 1974 South Vietnam 10 Dong coin has bright mint luster on its brass-colored surfaces. A few minor abrasion marks and remnants of an old fingerprint keep this unusual coin from a higher Mint State grade. The coin has an above average strike with full details on the peripheral legends and on the denomination.
The coin depicts two farmers in a rice paddy. Since neither is facing the viewer, the emphasis in the design is the work that they are doing and not their individual identities. They are dressed in typical peasant garb wearing hand woven, broad-rimmed bamboo hats, which are also called Sugegasa. The legend is TANG GIA SAN XUAT NONG PHAM. The denomination, 10 DONG, is on the obverse with the legend VIET NAM CONG HOA, NGAN HANG QUOC GIA VIET-NAM (National Bank of Vietnam).
