2005 MW Poland Silver 10Z John Paul II, KM # Y-539, NGC PF69 UCAM. This 2005 commemorative coin from Poland depicts the Pope, Saint Peters Basilica, and a baptismal font. The coin is a silver proof Ultra Cameo that has frosted devices against dark mirrored fields. The surfaces are exceptionally clean with no visible hairlines or other distractions. A touch of slight haze under the eagle confirms the coins originality.
The coin depicts Pope John Paul II facing right in profile with Saint Peters Basilica in the background. The dates 1920-2005 are above, and his name is below the basilica. The reverse shows a baptismal font along with the Polish eagle. The inscription RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA, which means the Republic of Poland, and the date are at the upper and right rim with the denomination below the eagle.
Pope John Paul II lived from May 1920 to April 2005. He was the second longest serving Pope in history and the first non-Italian since Adrian who died in 1523.
