OK numismatists, here's perhaps one of the greatest sleepers in American gold. An 1848 quarter eagle same same in AU-50 but showing a Cal is valued at approx $50,000.00 Please check the populations of the Cal and this No Cal then send me an email or phone call to purchase. Once upon a time yours truly was on the front page of Numismatic News for handling 3 1834 Capped Bust quarter eagles which 2 were mint state simultaneously. Here's a copy of that sale THREE SOLD AT ONCE Those coins have quadrupled in value and when was the last time you saw one I know that over a period of just a couple of years with great focus I went out with my partners to find them and buy them. There was an estimated dozen or so that existed and I bought 9 of them. While I'm not claiming that the 1848 No Cal is as rare as the 1834 capped bust quarter eagles I am saying that a significant opportunity presents itself that is way more advantageous in owning a few No Cal's than a single CAL.
