I hope all is well. This years ANA in Ilinois came on the heels of a big drop in the stock market and this of course was felt on the bourse floor. Those with fat checkbooks took advantage of the sudden fear that was floating thru the atmosphere and those who don't have those fat checkbooks didn't. This is reflected in the amount of activity shown to 6 figure coins which was different than the attitudes shown to coins in the 25k and less range. When your hot your hot when your not your not!
Personally I think this allowed us all a buying opportunity because and I speak from experience, the fellows and gals who are known as "whales" in the business are not slowing down at all and in fact appear to be widening their interests and adding a series or 2 to their existing interests. What a fun market!
This weeks coins for sale offerings begin with a Superb Gem 1851 Gold Dollar in NGC MS-67 one of very few to attain this high state of preservation and is just beautiful, followed by All original and beautiful 1799 Half Eagle BD-8, R-6 , followed by a choice Civil War Double Eagle dated 1863 in Choice About Uncirculated, to another Double Eagle 1854-S. Choice About Uncirculated 50 with a CAC sticker with a cac pop of only 7 that have been accepted, lastly a rare and desirable Territorial Gold, 1852 Moffat $10 Wide Date PCGS XF40.
