December 31st, 2025 Recap - Happy New Year 2025 - Special Rare Coin Offering

Hello All

Happy New Years Eve! It's been quite a year at US Rare Coin Investments. I don't think I've ever had a year where more five and six figure coins found their way into collections and investment portfolios than what we've seen in the past 12 months. If the activity during the last 90 days is any indication, then 2026 is already looking like it's going to be even more active.

All the more reason to take stock of what you have, what you wish you had, what you would like to sell and get started making adjustments, and additions. If you study the inventory here at US Rare Coin Investments you will find that week after week, month after month, year after year and decade after decade the philosophy behind the listings you see has remained constant. Whether you are interested in United States Gold Coins, Early US Gold, World coins, early-seated-morgan dollars the thread that binds them all together is scarcity-rarity-quality. I specialize in offering the scarcer dates, the rare dated coins that collectors sometimes wait till the end to hunt down only to find that their common coins have floundered by the rarities have marched merrily along over time at higher values. When was the last time you saw an 1834 Capped Bust Quarter eagle being offered? Yet 9 of the 10-12 examples thought to exist have found long term homes thru me, Tom Pilitowski and US Rare Coin Investments. A client of mine, a renowned plastic surgeon in the Midwest was one of the buyers mentioned in the news story from Numismatic News where the press put the story of me carrying 3 of these great rarities on the front page of the newspaper.

Numismatic News Feb 24th 1998 : Three Sold 1834 Capped Head Quarter Eagles at once

The client I am referring to still has one of the MS-61 specimens which was old school graded and a potential upgrade now so many years later but even without the upgrade the coin is worth quarter million dollars while the client originally paid a fraction of that price. Those are the type of capital gains we hope to achieve when cherry picking the great rarities while the masses and new internet dealers sell holders and more common but "high grade" material. Where would you rather be sitting?

This is an illustration of just one client of the company who followed the path years ago and is now reaping the rewards of that decision. If you have not had a plan or have not been acquiring the more scarce to rare material like this you may want to take a closer look at what your plans are in the numismatic world and grab hold of the bull that's only going to find even more demand as the years tick by. Make the decision to develop a plan and stick to it. The results will make you and your Families very happy indeed.

With this in mind I would like to offer as this years great blockbuster of blockbusters, 1868 Liberty Double Eagle Pattern J-655 struck in Aluminum which at the time of striking was more valuable than gold and was used as special presentation pieces to be given to foreign dignitaries and other important people. This example known as Judd 665 is the sole finest known specimen of this coin, with incredible pedigree going back to the US Mint in Philadelphia and very famous Industrialists, Musicians, at a value that seems to me truly undervalued and should perform quite well in the years ahead as an investment. More information is on the coin listing.
