I hope all is well. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and have many more to come! As we approach the new year I wanted to share some coin collecting ideas with you that may also prove to be a terrific investment area that will last not only in our generation but in future generations as well.
What I am referring to mainly are called "Early US Coins" which come in gold, silver and copper and were dated from the very first official mint in 1792 in Philadelphia thru thru the early 1800's and as far as gold coins are concerned, are technically considered "early" when minted prior to the Classic series of US Gold coins which began in 1834. Being even more specific the type set I am sharing with you this week shows a single type of nearly each denomination that was minted in the 1790's. I say nearly because the client who had me locate and purchase these coins did not get the small eagle half eagle or eagle and settled instead for the Heraldic Eagle gold coins. To make it complete one would need only add a specimen of the small eagle quarter eagle, half eagle and eagle.
Early American coins of this era represents the actual founding of our monetary system on a federal level as prior to these coins, the actual circulating coins in the USA were made in the individual states, or were of foreign origins now regulated to American standards by American regulators, or were actual foreign coins which were used as money in the colonies. We were the new kids on the block and we were about to turn the whole system right side up! These early American rarities no matter what grade they are in were the coins that started that world-wide revolution.
There's a number of creative ways to collect these coins or make an investment in them which I would be happy to discuss with you on an individual basis, to help you develop a plan of action and going forward to help you choose the best examples for your hard earned dollars.
