February 19th, 2025 - Gold Trades In The Coin Business

Hello All

I hope all is well. Busy week here at USRCI. Seems to be some investors trading gold at near 3K/oz for what they see as better opportunities now in numismatics. Who am I to disagree. It certainly seems like a good time to take a profit in bullion and pick up an undervalued rare coin in it's place doesn't it? What if an actual audit of Fort Knox shows we don't have the gold we thought we had or if the mention of replacing gold reserves with bitcoin comes to pass and what consequences would that bring to the gold bullion market? I guess the shorter question is how do you feel about metal at $3k/oz are you a buyer, seller or hold on type person? This has been a topic heard lately which I think we will hear more of in the near future.

Website Update-We are also working hard on bringing an all new website, hopefully will launch within the next month after testing. There will be some special features we are sure collectors as well as investors will appreciate especially in terms of information to help in pricing rare coins. Stay tuned.

This week's headliners begin with a Rarity 4 better variety early half eagle 1803/2 in choice about uncirculated, a couple of neat shipwreck gold coins from the SS Republic, a very scarce Humbert $10 Gold, please check the list below and don't forget the listings contained on the website.

Here's a few of this weeks favorites:

Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss these as well as any other coins you are considering whether you are buying-selling - or consigning to auction. Let me help!

When you see a rare coin of interest, please click to request images and to temporarily reserve the coin, giving yourself a little time to review the images that we'll send you and communicating with us that you would like us to hold the coin while you do your research.

Please also note that these are just some selections from the vast inventory of really great rare coins we have to offer. If you do not see what you are looking for on our website, send us an email or give us a call, because if it's a really rare coin, chances are we have a lead on one for you or have it in the safe!

Please contact me as soon as possible, as this is a very healthy rare coin market.

Don't hesitate to share your Want List items; we are adept at filling them, and we're discreet.

We wish you and your family continued health & prosperity.

Happy Collecting,

Thomas M. Pilitowski
