1608 Germany Taler, Brunswick
Wolfenbuttel DAV-6285, Wildman NGC XF45. 1608
German “Wildman” Taler. Excellent
originality surface and strike on these Wildman
Taler's from Germany.
The Wildman theme was borne
from the many tales of huge hairy "wild-men"
in the solitudes of the Hartz Forest in Germany.
These tales, often told my miners or foresters
over a period of centuries, are the kind of
tales that will live on thru out the ages
and till the end of time. Here's 1 example
of those Wild Men, in a silver Taler
The Taler has been in existence
since 1518 and is the bases for the Dollar.
Image the value of this was an early US Dollar.
One of the neatest coins of any kind in our
opinion.
