Poland 1925 10 Zloty, KM-Y32, NGC MS65. This Gem 1925 Polish 10 zloty piece shimmers with bright mint luster. The coin is well struck with full details on the kings hair, crown, mustache, and the design elements of the reverse. The light and medium gold colors attest to the coins originality. The surfaces are clean with no visible abrasion marks or other distractions.
The obverse shows a close-up, profile portrait of King Boleslaus I (also Boleslaw) with the dates 1025 -1925. The reverse shows the crowned eagle facing left with wings open. The coin commemorates the 900th Anniversary of Poland. The issue was never released into circulation.
King Boleslaus I was Duke of Poland from 992 until April 1025, when he became the first King of Poland. Two months later, he died. Bolesaus I was a remarkable politician, strategist, and statesman. He turned Poland into a country that was not only comparable to older western monarchies, but also elevated it into the European elite. Bolesaus conducted successful military campaigns in the west, south and east. He consolidated the Polish lands and conquered territories outside of modern borders of Poland. He was a powerful mediator and was an ally of the Holly Roman Emperor. He is widely considered one of the most capable and accomplished rulers in Europe.
